National Rehabilitation Hospital
The National Rehabilitation Hospital is nearing completion. This is one project where the functionality of the VISOCALL IP system can really show its true potential. Due to the nature of the patients in the NRH the assistive technology is essential to provide a degree of independence. The ability to control the lighting, door blinds, window blinds and television from the patient handset in conjunction with the Infra Red and RF interfaces will allow patients to control all these devices using only their breath, should they have no other means to do so.
The KNX menu integrated into the patient handset allows further functionality and devices to be added as needed with no additional hardware or wiring required.
Under the stewardship of Jones Engineering Group (JEG) Synergy Medical Systems have also provided a bespoke bedhead unit manufactured by Schyns Gmbh. The elegant design ensures that the patient bedrooms have a non clinical feel more akin to a 5 star hotel room than a hospital environment.
