University Hospital Galway
University Hospital Galway has a reputation for embracing technological advances to improve the staff and patient environment. It was therefore no surprise that they have embraced the concept of fully IP nurse call and communications systems.
The new 75 bed ward block has been equipped with a fully IP nurse call and communications system from Schrack Seconet including patient entertainment which is distributed and controlled vis the nurse call infrastructure.
Room terminals allow calls on the system to be routed directly to the appropriate staff. Room terminals also allow staff to communicate with each other in an emergency and to speak directly with a patient when a call is made establishing the severity of the situation.
Room terminals also act as a PA system allowing staff to be paged from any other terminal or from the nurse base station
Synergy Medical have also installed 75 beds of the award winning Cableflow Integra Medical Bedhead Trunking System.
The hospital have since extended the nurse call system into the main building so staff and patients there can benefit from the integrated IP TV and radio already installed as part o the 75 bed block.
