South West Hospital Enniskillen

The new South West Acute Hospital on Wolf Lough just north of Enniskillen, epitomizes everything that is modern in a 21st century healthcare facility. There are no wards, just long corridors with 300 single side rooms each has its own flat screen television, radio and clinical hand washing area. The £276m hospital is the first in Ireland to offer every patient a single room with en-suite bathroom facilities. Not only does this provide a level of service similar to a hotel it also ensures that hospital acquired infections can be minimized.

For such a prestigious high specification project there was only one possible partner for the design and supply of medical trunking and medical pendant systems! Synergy Medical supplied over 400 beds of Medical Trunking to the bedroom and clinical areas alongside Ondal Medical Pendants for the 1st stage recovery area. Due to the demanding standards required and tight lead-time all Medical Trunking was manufactured and assembled off site at Cableflow’s High Wycombe headquarters.

“We are delighted to have been involved with this groundbreaking project. The provision of bed head services in Northern Ireland has moved beyond allowing contractors to assemble critical devices requiring the highest level of certification in a building site environment. Our partner Synergy Medical and more specifically its MD Maurice Quail have almost 20 years of experience with our products, we look forward to many more Northern Ireland projects together” – Graham Dell MD of Cableflow.

“We are very pleased with the performance of Synergy Medical Systems on this project, and would not hesitate in recommending them for future large projects of this nature.” – Denis Kelly Mercury Lead Engineer.
